EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN
And just like that, it begins again.
From the ashes of petulant pissing and moaning rises a new era of… pissing and moaning. Everything from the old site has been moved over here, and I am now, for the first time, officially a dotcom. Beyond that, we now have a comment system in place that no more than 2 people over the last 6 years have ever asked for. Shortly, the content on the side of the screen will expand and include many of the ever pressing things my 4 readers have come to expect like tracklistings for important mix CDs and the comforting site of a lounging lemur.
Meanwhile, the countdown to many events looms ever closer. The woman graduates in a couple days, and in just over a week from now, we will be heading off for a “post-graduation” celebration to Mackinac Island. Even though we are staying at one of the resorts on the island with a room that overlooks Lake Huron, I can’t possibly imagine what other things may or may not happen while we are away on our little trip. It is a mystery. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the rather sizable purchast that I made from an independent jeweler a couple months ago. Not at all.
After that comes the soul crushing experience that is packing all of your shit into boxes and moving across the state to our new place. I’ve been here for a while, longer than I had been anywhere before aside from when I was growing up. There are some things here that have been in the same boxes or bags they were put in when I moved in 4 year ago. This time around, I’m not even going to bother looking. That shit is getting tossed. If I haven’t needed it enough to look and see what it was, it clearly isn’t all that important. Beyond that, between the 2 of us, we have enough furniture and the like to take care of the new place. If anything, we might have a little too much. Definitely have too much in the kitchen department. A good number of glasses, silverware, and plates will be finding a new home with Goodwill. I’m also going to be going through my clothes and purging lots of stuff I have not worn in almost forever. At least 1/3 of it probably needs to go, more depending on who you ask and their opinion of my fashion sense.
So yeah. Things are happening. I would dare say that over the next 3 weeks, my life will be undergoing the most changes it has since moving away from home and going to college. And that’s OK.
